Progress

Well, things are coming along around here....FINALLY!  After a very busy, exhausting summer, I feel as if things are getting back to normal.

Mark worked hard on our cabinets this weekend.  This is how they're looking so far:
They'll be primed and painted white.  The backing inside the shelves is beadboard.  There are two units total that will get installed in the living room on either side of our tv cabinet.  I'll post more pics when they get done.  Yay for handy husbands!

More progress in the living room comes in the form of fabric.  I did some sewing over the weekend, and whipped up some curtains and pillows in my new color scheme.

Pictures look a little washed out, but I love the calm green and blue combination.

The next progress made around here is in the fashion department.  Now, I like buying clothes as much as the next girl -- but I definitely don't define myself as a "fashionista".  I pretty much go for things that are comfortable, flattering, and on sale.  That proves to be much more challenging these days with my growing belly.  My normal clothes aren't fitting right, but I am still much too small for maternity clothes.  So, I decided to set out for some bargains and see what I could find.

Enter Marshalls.  I found these jeans for $10 -- $10!!  Yes, you read that right!  I went up a size from my normal clothes and they fit fine.

There's that darn belly sticking out....but they button, and they are nice stretchy denim so they are actually very comfortable.  Plus, I'm sure I'll be able to wear them post-baby, too.  I couldn't bear the thought of going through the early fall without a pair of jeans!  Something funny about these jeans -- they had different styles, named by shape.  These are called "circular"....how fitting. :)
Also found a cute navy skirt (also up a size), and this cute tunic style dress to wear with leggings.  Now that's comfy!  Who doesn't love stretchy leggings!?  I'll be able to wear this for several months -- just may have to add a cardigan and/or boots when it gets cooler.  Total spent on all three items:  $40.  Mission accomplished!

P.S.  Sorry for the poor picture quality.  This is what happens when your husband is working for the evening and you are home alone taking pictures in the mirror.  Mom, you can scold me later for not making my bed. :)
